Trudi Last lives in Foxground, a small rural community set on the eastern hillside temperate rainforest just north of Berry NSW.
“With a principle interest in Australian Flora and Fauna, the dominant influence on my art making is my life environment at Foxground - a temperate rainforest rural area on the South Coast of New South Wales.”
Mastering an eclectic mix of mixed media displaying an expertise that astounds the viewer, Trudi draws that which we rarely see – the minutae of rainforest flora and fauna.
In her exhibition Nests Trudi faithfully presents a breathtaking gentleness and sweetness of line to represent the tiniest hair or feather woven into these precious small and delicate homes found in both her garden and in the surrounding forest.
Trudi has been delighting collectors exhibiting her work for over 40 years in over 60 exhibitions and is hanging in collections all over the world.
Nests can be viewed at Altenburg Gallery Braidwood from July 31 to August 22
Opening night on Friday 30 July at 5.30pm – all welcome
