Kate Carruthers moved from the Isle of Mull off the west coast of Scotland in 2009, where she had her studio overlooking the sea, to the small Heritage village of Braidwood on the NSW Southern Tablelands.
The contrast in light and colour from the northern wild ocean storms to the Australian warm earthy tones of parched grasses and intense light has Kate intrigued as she explores and paints every day.
Skylines is an exciting new collection of works by this young vibrant artist who has long been fascinated in capturing the almost surreal moment of stillness when light changes and plays on cloud formations.
Carruther’s work has been enthusiastically received and Skylines can be viewed at Altenburg Gallery Braidwood from June 26 to July 28.
Opening night Friday 25 June from 5.30pm – all welcome
