Lucinda Boyd River’s Edge
Biography
Born in England in 1954, Lucinda Boyd is a self taught artist. Her parents, David and Hermia Boyd encouraged their children to paint and draw from an early age and gave helpful advice on technique and use of various media. Lucinda studied life-drawing, etching and later hand wrought jewellery making.
Lucinda Boyd was born in England and spent her childhood travelling around Europe with her parents before returning with them to live in Australia in 1972. In 1983 she moved to the lower Hunter Valley NSW where Lucinda began a series of landscapes working in the pastel medium. She held her first solo exhibition in Newcastle at the Von Bertouch Galleries in 1985. Since then she has lived and worked in a bush environment developing an individual technique with pastels.
Lucinda Boyd’s work is held in private and corporate collections across Australia, in the United Kingdom, France and the USA.
